This article will show you how to create a peer evaluation activity using the Michaelsen's Style point distribution
This Guide is for:
- Super Admin
- Teacher Admin (Full-Access)
- Teacher (Owner Full-Access)
There are various methods of peer evaluation divided in three broad categories: qualitative, quantitative and hybrid evaluation.
Here's a guide for an overview of different peer evaluation methods.
Once you've gone through Step 1 - Basic settings in the activity creation process, you can proceed to Step 2 - Questions.
To create an point distribution question for peer evaluation:
- Click on 'Create questions here'
- Select "Point distribution'
In the question creation window:
- Insert the 'Criteria' title - E.g. Point distribution
- Provide a description (Optional)

Point Distribution Breakdown Per Team
- Each teams must have at least 3 members. (Students must be enrolled in the course for this setup)

Point Distribution settings
The toggle to make this required is turned ON by default. Toggle 'off' to make this optional.
- Questions that are required will show a red * mark.
- Optional questions will not have a red * mark. Students will be able to submit without answering.

- Point Distribution Type - Select 'Michaelsen Style'.
- How many points to distribute - Set points to allocated per teammate. By default, the value is set to '10'.

Give points to self (Available for 'self' and 'teammates and self' evaluation)

- Additional settings
- Add faculty notes that are viewable to teachers only (Optional)
- The Question bank toggle is an option to add the questions created to the account's Library.
Click Save to view the Content page.
