This article will guide you on how to create an asynchronous IRAT-only activity.
Here's some important information you need to know regarding creating an asynchronous IRAT Only activity:
- Teachers will not be able to extend the test duration if a time limit is set for the activity.
- Teachers can choose not to set a time limit, so that students can access the activity at any time within the open period.
- Students will take the test at different times within the open period. Specifically, students will only be able to start answering the test after the start-date-and-time and before the end-date-and-time.
- If a time limit has been set by the instructor, students will have that amount of time from when they enter the activity to complete the activity. E.g: A 20 minutes activity will end after 20 minutes is up from the time the student enters the test.
In summary, the activity setup steps are as follows:
-
Click the "+ New Activity" button within the module.
-
Fill out the IRAT-only basic settings.
-
Add your questions.
-

-
Upload instructions and set features for the activity.
- Review your activity.
-

-
Copy & Paste: This option allows you to submit your information in bulk using a select CSV file. You can download the accepted file sample at this stage. This option is the best and fastest option as long as most of your questions don't have images or equations. More instructions on this method here.
-
File Upload: Similar to the copy and paste option, this allows you to upload your information in bulk using a select CSV file. Like the Copy & Paste option, this isn't optimal if your questions carry images and equations, but it's extremely fast and efficient as opposed to manually inputting questions or selecting questions from your question bank.
