Once you've determined how you would organize your course content into modules, you can create activities (IRATs, TRATs, Application Cases, and 360 Degree Evaluation) within them.
After successfully creating your course and module, you will reach the activity setup screen. To get started:
-
Click on the +New Activity button on the screen:
Activity Creation Steps in Detail
1. Now please select the type of activity that you wish to conduct and fill out the activity details. (This cannot be changed after it is saved.)
Prework: This activity type allows you to upload preparatory materials for your students such as readings, presentation slides, audio lectures, or video lectures which provides the basic theory and content students should review before class.
IRAT: This is an individual readiness assurance test. It allows you to understand how well your students have understood the prework individually.
TRAT: This is a team readiness assurance test. This allows you to create a set of questions that can be attempted by students in their teams. In such a test, students will get immediate feedback as one team reporter answers questions on behalf of the team.
IRAT & TRAT: This activity type allows you to use the same set of questions to run an IRAT and TRAT.
Application Case: This activity type is generally used by Team-Based Learning educators to add application exercises in the form of multiple-choice or free-response questions. This activity type has the added functionality of allowing students to select multiple correct answers if you decide you'd like them to be able to do so, as well as upload images or files as their answers.
360 Degree Evaluation: This is an advanced peer evaluation activity that allows students to enter qualitative and quantitative feedback on teammates, as well as feedback about their own performance, the team's overall performance, and the instructor's performance.
2. Click on the Go to Questions button (to save basic settings) and then add questions.
-
-
- From Question Bank: These are questions that you have already in your InteDashboard account.
- Create New Question: This option allows you to add questions along with answer choices one at a time. This option is best if you want to add images, equations, or other types of special formatting to your questions.
- Copy and Paste: This option allows you to submit your information in bulk using a CSV file. This option is the best and fastest option as long as most of your questions don't have images or equations.
- File Upload: Similar to the copy and paste option, this allows you to upload your information in bulk using a CSV file. Like the copy and paste option, this isn't optimal if your questions carry images and equations, but it's extremely fast and efficient as opposed to manually inputting questions or selecting questions from your question bank.

You'll be taken back to the MODULES & ACTIVITIES page upon publishing. Click on the Go to Dashboard button of the activity to start running it with students.
Further Helpful Information
Please note, each activity within InteDashboard has its specific types of questions:
- IRAT: Single correct answer MCQ type questions
- TRAT: Multiple correct answer type questions
- Application Cases: Both single and multiple MCQ-type questions, plus Free-Response questions.
- 360 Degree Evaluation: Rating type and free-response questions.
It’s important that you know that once you publish the activity, you won’t be able to go back and change the values set until you reset or duplicate the activity. Then you can publish the activity again after making changes.
This means that once ongoing activities are set, you won’t be able to edit the points, questions, instructions, case data, and other options. You can, however change this data if the activity is in not started, or scheduled status. Though this means that you will be resetting the activity as discussed above.
